Make Music Day is a live, free musical celebration on June 21, the longest day of the year, with concerts on streets, sidewalks, and parks across the city.
Make Music Philly is an all-day, open-access, free “do it yourself” festival taking place in various neighborhoods in Philadelphia, PA on June 21st every year. Participation is encouraged from all ages, genres and abilities, from indie rock to bluegrass to a cappella, from music students to professional artists and everything in between.
Make Music Philly’s primary goals are to provide an equal platform for musicians of all skill levels, interests and walks of life and to inspire the next generation of musicians through innovative outreach programming.
This celebration is not limited to residents of Philly, but invites music enthusiasts from everywhere to come participate by performing, attending or volunteering. Join us to ring in the summer solstice as part of an international event with its heart and soul in our local community!

After an all-virtual Make Music Philly last year, we are looking forward to a number of in-person events this June 21st. As of April 26th, Performer and Venue signups are now LIVE ! – Please click Sign Up as a Performer or Venue .
NOTE: We recommend using Chome (PC) or Safari (MAC) browsers when signing up. Firefox browser has caused occasional glitches.
For in-person events, we do encourage performers and attendees to be vaccinated and continue wearing masks until Covid numbers drop further (fingers crossed they will be way low by June 21st!). The entire entertainment industry is working to bring back large scale crowded concerts and other events we can enjoy and they can all get back to work.
