Are you interested in learning more about performing during Make Music Philly? Everyone is welcomed and encouraged to join the celebration! The event is an all-ages, all-inclusive celebration of music, so whether you’re in a band, a solo artist, a child, a senior, a saxophonist or a thereminist, there’s a spot for you to perform!
Due to social distancing, Make Music Philly is expected to be an all-virtual online celebration this year. This means that all performances will be streamed on various Facebook pages and other online platforms. In addition to live streamed performances, there will also be several other fun musical events happening that day (see below).
2020 Virtual Events for Make Music Philly
You can look forward to some great events like…
- #MySongIsYourSong – We invite you to join in a global song swap! Learn a song written by another local artist and hear yours covered in return. Partners will be introduced on June 5th, carefully chosen from your registration. Visit www.MakeMusicDay.org/songswap to register for this special event.
- 25×12 – This is a daylong initiative to provide everyone access to 12 hours of free music lessons for 25 major musical instruments. We are accomplishing this through live streaming services and partnerships with organizations/individuals all over the country. We plan to have lessons from beginner to advanced for all instruments, ranging from guitar and percussion to theremin and electronics.
- Virtual Sing-along/Karaoke – Create or participate in a virtual Sing-along session. A virtual sing-along or karaoke is the perfect opportunity for anyone – even the shiest singers – to join in a group singing event. That’s because you can sing along and share a song with others, with your microphone muted so only you can hear yourself.
- More to come!
